Description
A delicious dessert that combines the flavors of classic Boston cream pie into a simple cake with fluffy yellow cake, creamy vanilla pudding, and rich chocolate frosting.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 box yellow cake mix
- 1 box vanilla pudding mix
- 1 tub chocolate frosting
Instructions
- Prepare the yellow box cake mix according to package instructions and bake in a 9×13-inch pan.
- Once the cake is baked and cooled, use the end of a wooden spoon to poke holes all over the cake.
- Prepare the vanilla pudding according to package directions and pour it over the cake, allowing it to fill the holes.
- Refrigerate the cake for about 120 minutes to set the pudding.
- Top the cake with chocolate frosting and serve cold.
Notes
Allow the cake to cool completely before poking holes to ensure the best texture. For a richer flavor, use homemade vanilla pudding. Chilling the cake for at least 2 hours helps the pudding set properly.
