Description
Soft, buttery biscuits baked in a swimming pool of butter, perfect for breakfast or as a side dish.
Ingredients

- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup buttermilk
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
- In a bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
- Melt the butter and pour half of it into the bottom of a baking dish.
- Add buttermilk to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
- Drop spoonfuls of the dough into the baking dish over the melted butter.
- Pour the remaining melted butter over the top of the dough.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown. Serve warm.
Notes
Serve with gravy, jelly, or honey. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to two days at room temperature, or refrigerate for about a week.
