  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced Any kind of mushrooms such as button or cremini can be used.
  • 1 cup green beans, trimmed Frozen green beans can also be used; just thaw and drain them before cooking.
  • 1 tablespoon butter Can be replaced with olive oil for a vegan option.
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper Adjust to taste.

Preparation

  • Melt the butter in a pan over medium heat.
  • Add the minced garlic and sliced mushrooms to the pan, and sauté until the mushrooms are soft.
  • Toss in the trimmed green beans and continue cooking until they are tender.
  • Season with black pepper to taste and serve warm.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in a pan over low heat until warmed through. Avoid overcrowding the pan while cooking for better results. A squeeze of lemon juice can add extra brightness.
