Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 500 g minced beef
  • 1 unit chopped onion
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup beef stock
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 roll puff pastry
  • 1 unit egg yolk For brushing

Instructions

Cooking

  • Start by frying the chopped onion and minced beef in a frying pan. Cook until the meat is browned and the onion is soft.
  • Next, stir in the Worcestershire sauce and beef stock. Let it simmer for about 10 minutes to blend the flavors.
  • To thicken the mixture, dilute the cornstarch in a small amount of water and add it to the pan. Stir well until it thickens.
  • Roll out the puff pastry and cut it to fit your pie molds. Place the meat mixture inside and cover with another layer of pastry. Make sure to seal the edges well.
  • Brush the tops of the pies with egg yolk to give them a nice golden color.
  • Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (about 400°F) for 20 minutes or until they are golden brown.

Notes

Let leftovers cool completely before storing in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. They can also be frozen for up to a month. Reheat in the oven for a crispy crust. You can enhance flavors with herbs like thyme or rosemary, and you can use minced lamb or chicken as variations. Feel free to add vegetables like peas or carrots for added nutrition.
